How do I return an item and receive a refund?
Rest assured on Hip, that when an item is received damaged or significantly different from as described, you'll be able to receive a refund when eligible per the following details:
Hip is an online marketplace, home to thousands of different sellers. Each seller is responsible for their own listings, and will set their own return policies. You can always review these policies before you purchase by reviewing the "Shipping" tab on any item listing page.
However, please note that our terms and conditions, as well as PayPal's Buyer Protection, require sellers to accept returns under certain conditions. For example, when an item is received and is damaged, or significantly different than as described, the seller is required to accept a return. Our terms ask that you notify the seller of such situations within 7 days of when the item arrives. Buyers and Sellers should further review PayPal's own terms for any additional conditions.
In such situations, the first step is always to contact the seller directly and request a refund, which you can do through the Hip > Members Area > Buying page by clicking on the "Contact Seller" button to the right of the order in question. Or simply use the following links:

If you're unable to resolve the matter with the seller, we're here to help! Please reach out to our support team, and we'll contact the seller to help try to resolve the matter.
In any event where the matter is still not resolved, rest assured that your eligible purchase + shipping cost is covered through PayPal's Buyer Protection. In such cases, your next step would be to file a claim with PayPal. This can be initiated from the bottom of the transaction details page on PayPal by clicking on the "Need help? Go to the Resolution Center for help with this transaction..." link.
