It's the first of the month, why was my credit card charged?

Your card is used to pay for any applicable subscription fees and/or selling fees added to your account balance. In general, your credit card will be charged when you enable a store subscription, on the first of every month, and/or if your account balance exceeds $250.00, and/or if your account/subscription is closed or suspended.

As a seller on Hip, any fees you incur for selling with us, such as store subscriptions and final value fees, are added to your account balance. However, your credit card on file is not charged immediately. Charges to your card are processed when your account balance exceeds $250 and/or on the first of the month.

For example, if your account balance is $0.00 on February 1 and you incur a $9.95 store subscription fee on February 2, and then close your store on February 3, your account balance as of February 3 would be $9.95.

Then on March 1, your credit card on file with us would be charged $9.95, which is the outstanding balance from February. This charge is not a new fee but simply the balance from February 2 being billed on the first of the month.

In this scenario, no additional fees or charges would be applied to your credit card on file with us.
