Having trouble paying - 'Payment Failed' Error Message

If you experience an error when attempting to pay, we recommend taking the following steps to resolve the issue: 

  • Try another computer or device to complete your payment. Your current browser or device may not be accepting cookies - you can clear your browser’s cache and cookies and try again.
  • Contact PayPal Customer Support at 1 (888) 221-1161 and ask that they review your recent purchase attempts. PayPal may sometimes block payment attempts if they find the activity suspicious. 
  • Contact your bank to ensure they do not have a hold on your transaction to Hip. If your payment is still failing after following the above steps, your bank may be preventing your payment from going through. Note that your bank or Credit Card company does not share details with PayPal about why your card was declined. You can call your bank or Credit Card company using the phone number on the back of your card. 

In certain instances, PayPal may be encountering a temporary issue within their system. We suggest making another attempt, as it is more likely to successfully go through. If you encounter issues with your debit or credit card, please refer to Having trouble paying with a credit/debit card
