Having trouble paying with a credit/debit card


On Hip, all of our payments, including direct payments by debit or credit card, are handled by PayPal. But, in general, you should be able to checkout and pay directly with a debit or credit card without needing to open or use a PayPal account by selecting the "Pay with Debit or Credit Card" option.

At times, PayPal detects a recent session from your device or browser, it prioritizes its own payment method for security reasons. However, here is an additional solution that you can try:

  • When prompted to choose a payment method, select the "Pay with Debit or Credit Card" option. As you move forward, you might see a PayPal login page.
  • At this point, click on the "Sign Up" option. Don't worry; you won't need to actually create a PayPal account. On the following screen, you should see an option for guest checkout. Kindly select that, and you should be able to proceed without a PayPal account.

However, due to certain browser and device memories, this method may not always provide the expected result. If you're having trouble:

  • Open an incognito or private browsing window for a fresh session and attempt the payment there.
  • As another step, you might consider using a different browser or device.
